volunteering at Rita zniber foundation
- "You make a living by what you get,you make a life by what you give"
March 23, 2014 was a special day. On this day, I came up with a different view of life. I learned that life is not about what you have, rather, it is about what you give. I met people who made my day and the rest of the other days. Those people were amazing, but abandoned. They were left by the people who brought them into life. Rita Zniber Foundation is the one that takes care of abandoned children in the region of Meknes Tafilalt. Volunteers – a number of the American Language Center and Moulay Ismail University students – came together to help primary pupils with their school subjects once a week on Sundays.
Rita Zniber Foundation was officially founded in May, 1992. The mission of this fondation is to develop and protect the rights of abandoned children. Now, the association is taking care of more than 300 abandoned children, mainly male children.
Under the guidance of Ms. Alexa Bate and Ms. Khadija Nour El Attar, we were able to visit this foundation on a regular basis. Our primary goal was to help primary students with their homework. In addition, most of us were able to connect with the children. We built a relationship of trust, respect, and unconditioned love.
Rita Zniber Foundation's staff was very helpful; they provided the needed resources and a friendly environment. The children are adorable and smart. The first time I went there, I was just wondering how blind their biological parents must be to leave such beautiful people.
In conclusion, being aware that I can help others has made my life meaningful. Rita Zniber Foundation is just an example of a successful volunteering experience. I am sure that there are other good nonprofit organizations that need your help. So, start right now and you will never regret.
