Life is a Journey, Not a Destination
I adhere perfectly to the deep meaning conveyed by this quotation. In fact with hindsight, we observe the regular come and go of generations. On this platform of living, which is Earth, we can easily conclude that life is something borrowed for a limited duration. So it can be described as a destination, which by definition is not an end. In other words, if the meaning of the word “destination” is what something or someone is created for, life would not be like this. Our existence is not a goal but a passage. It is a kind of journey offered for a predefined period that can be relatively short. In this way life is an abstract notion, materialized in a concrete body which God lends to human beings.
Our life is justified by the achievement of an unspecified mission that was entrusted to us by our Creator. People can never find the reason of their existence on Earth. Some people desperately shorten their journey if they cannot solve the enigma. But all the time, unquestionably, we give back what the owner has lent us, unaware of the responsibility we have been charged with.
